Meet Your Provider

​Lori Ryan is licensed as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in the State of Iowa and is nationally certified as a Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. Her passion for pediatric health promotion and wellness care began with her own health journey and that of her daughter.  Through her own personal journey, education, and clinical experience, she has learned to value the integration of conventional medicine and complementary care to identify and address root causes of health challenges and promote positive health outcomes.

She received her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa. Her undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Nursing was obtained from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She has completed additional education and coursework in Functional Medicine and Functional Nutrition through the Institute of Functional Medicine. She is a trained and approved provider of sublingual immunotherapy through Allergychoices. In addition, she is a Certified Nutritional Health Coach through Precision Nutrition. Lori is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

She was employed as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the Pediatric Allergy Pulmonary Clinic at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and served as the Cystic Fibrosis Coordinator at UIHC. As a Registered Nurse, she worked in an infant specialty care unit at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.  Her experience and specialty focus has been in pediatric patients with allergy and pulmonary diseases, feeding disorders, prematurity, growth/developmental challenges, and chronic illness. Lori has completed internships in the Iowa High-Risk Infant Follow-up Program and school nursing. She has been published in the Journal of Pediatric Health Care and has authored patient education material for Solvay Pharmaceutical Company.

Lori is a native of Pella, Iowa. She enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, family, and her Siamese cat, Mocha. Her hobbies include music, interior decorating, and exploring the beauty of nature.
